Alternative/Rock hailing from New London county. Coming to our current lineup and band name in July '07 following years of Marissa and Reid jamming in various bands (Radio Flyer & The Fat Boy That Could), and recruiting Tom from (Soverign Nation & Aneursym). After the first year and then some with our then singer Marshall, we decided to make a few lineup changes and were happy to welcome our singer Tony (formally of Project Awesome & Rabid Abbey). - "The 3rd band of the night was the first to really catch my ear. They were called A Moment of Silence. A foursome that was mixing Melvins-esque guitar riffs with new metal vocals. The girl playing guitar was what really stood out, she had a great sound --fuzzy and low but with enough punch so that you could hear all the notes she was playing." -Adam Wujtewicz (Wailing City)

Above/Below, a New London, CT-based band, was formed in 2007 and began as a three-piece rhythm section comprised of Jonas Sanchez on drums; Chris Reilly on upright bass; and Kevin Gallagher on congas and percussion providing beats for the lyrics and rhymes of emcee Gabe Chandler. With its music drawing on strong jazz influences coupled with a lyrical vocal style, the group translated some of Chandler's existing material into simpler, less-produced versions that maintained their rapid-fire, poignant lyricism and placed them over swinging back-beats. The results were satisfying enough for the musicians to reconvene after a short hiatus with a desire to work on new arrangements and to round out the sound. The result is, by nature, a hybrid yet something fresh. From either end of the genre spectrum their music is somewhere in the middle of everything - in between left and right; inside and out; above and below.
Sandman's musical history goes way back to the mid-'60s... he played in bands and as a solo act while still in high school, had his first published song at age fifteen, and as a member of the group Papa Nebo, recorded an album on Atlantic when he was twenty. There's a lot of wandering for a few years, followed by four years and three albums (Buddha,RCA) with the band Free Beer. Fast-forward to the '90s... Sandman begins playing with fellow singer/songwriter Jim Carpenter and bass player Mike Palazzolo. Over the last decade, these three have been together in several incarnations (presently Jim's band The Hoolios). Sandman has been a member of The Rivergods, a well-known, well-loved Ct.- based band for about five years, as a singer/guitar/mandolin/pedal-steel player. On July 4th, '07, Sandman "sat in" on pedal steel with the New London-based band Hellbent & Heartbreakin' at a private party. It went so well, he was invited to sit in at the next two or three gigs, after which he made it to a rehearsal, thus becoming an official member of yet another busy working band. It took about ten years for Sandman to put his first solo album, "Horses to Water" together. It's been available for a few months and has received critical praise from friends and strangers alike. Just Released (6/07) - the "Anthology Album", a (nearly) complete collection of Sandman's work from Papa Nebo, Free Beer, and the years between. Both CDs are available at cdbaby, as well as other online venues. Sandman is a member of the Rhode Island Songwriters Assoc. and can be seen at a growing number of venues in R.I. and Ct.... check the website for more info.

Amido Black formed in the summer of 2005 starting with Gordon on guitar,
Hopkins on bass, and Burton on vox. Soon after the additon of Egner on
drums and Clint on guitar, the foundation was laid for the creative
process. Over the next year, Amido Black wrote, and formulated their own
niche, and style. By their first show they already had their first ep
recorded and ready to distribute. Given that each
member puts the live show above all else and the content and precision
of each song not all sounding the same but unmistakeably allowed them to
gain noteriety very quickly. Being a DIY band Amido Black has recorded
and produced 3 more EPs over the following 4 years by themselves aside
from mastering. Hopkins, with the blessing of the band and due to
unforeseen circumstances had to relocate, yet miraculously Dave, a long
time friend who could not be a much better fit was available to fill the
void. And so another chapter opens for Amido Black.
