Hempsteadys, The

Reggae/Ska from New London: Ah yes, The Hempsteadys. A band who's origin is shrouded in mystery. What misfortune has brought this dirtiest of reggae to the gentle shores of New London. Was it the cities political unrest crying out for a voice? Was it the turmoil of eminent domain bulldozing little pink houses to make way for hotels? Can we blame this on our cities plague of drugs and violence? Who can really say? Perhaps we dwell too much in the past. - "One thing New London's music scene has been low on lately is a great live reggae act. The Hempsteadys are here to address that. The band features members of many bands in New London, including Hand Grenade Serenade and Chasing Trinity. The 'Steadys are soaked in old school dub, but present it with a modern twist. This is definitely a fun set not to be missed." (Sean Murray of The Oasis Pub)

Herff Jones

* disbanded

Herff Jones is a rock band from Mystic, CT. Formed in the fall of 2010, we are a five-piece ranging in age from 19 to 21. Though we are pressed to label ourselves “rock”, our songs are determined only by duende, allowing us to move freely through method and mood in an attempt to develop a unique sound through acoustic and electric balance.  Female/male vocal harmonies intertwine over beautifully blended acoustic and electric guitar parts which are all wrapped up by dynamic rhythm sections with complex yet mild bass lines and effective drum parts ranging from jazz to hip hop beats.  Having cultivated a following among the local public and press and completed a five track demo that we are proud of, Herff Jones is ready to move forward.

Joey Hilbert - acoustic guitar
vox Dylan Rigolini - electric guitar
Pat Crawford - bass
T-Bob Crawford - drums
Blair Smith - vox

Hoolios, The

The Hoolios have fast become favorites on the New England music scene. The six piece roots rock project founded by songwriter Jim Carpenter, is known for taking its audience on a musical travelog around the Gulf of Mexico . . . the rhythm and grooves of alt. country, folk-rock, zydeco and caribbean. The Hoolios are: Jim Carpenter - vocals, guitar; Mike Derry - vocals, accordion, keyboards; Sandy Allen - harmony vocals, mandolin; Bill Light - harmony vocals, slide guitar; Mike Palazzolo - harmony vocals, bass; Ronnie Lewis - vocals, drums.

Hunter, Luke

Luke Hunter has been out and about in the Eastern CT scene with several groups over the past four years, including the dance-pop outfit Incessant Pop Group and current folk-rock group The Thick Thieves. But his latest project has been a strictly studio effort that has evolved from experimental meandering into a full-fledged Solo recording, 'Dizzying Hieghts.' Taking multi-instrumental improv to the next step, it gleams with Neo-Psychedelia from the 80's and is dripping with Post-Rock influence and atmosphere, but comes across as more than just a subtle combination of the two genres. From vast, crawling, drone filled pieces to tense, jittery Lo-Fi pop, the record is as diverse musically as it is in it's goal- to create a sound distinguishably different from your average Alt. Rock and indie bands.
