DeafDisco
Nominated for "Best DJ" and "Best Music Themed Series"
Interview by Corrine Jensen
1. How would you describe your sound/the music you’re making
in 10 words or less?
We make music we enjoy ourselves, hoping others
will too.
2. Of all my songs, the one that...
A. people tell me they like the most is: "Zombie Swagger"
B. is my favorite to perform is: "DanceFloorRiot"
C. holds the most meaning for me is: "DanceFloorRiot"
3. What/who/where inspires you musically?
Right now it would be any artist associated with
Sex Cult records, specifically Designer Drugs
4. What song or artist is your guilty pleasure?
Guilty pleasure or not, Ellie Goulding
5. Which New London County musician/singer/group/artist are
you really into right now?
Outside of the Sexual Healing camp (especially
with what Erik Lamb is set to put out next) The Fly Ones are definitely on our
radar, great energy and great individuals.
6. What 3 words best describe who you are?
Hardworking... Devoted... Hairy...
7. What do you think has been your biggest
success in the last year?
Gaining a monthly party at the Oasis and going
on Tour. Getting out of your hometown helps with staying inspired and growing
as an artist.
8. How did you feel the moment you found out you were up for
a Whalie?
For the length of time we’ve been in New London
and the amount of nominations we have... Inspired, to work harder to push our
limits. Getting noticed after a year of work means we have to be doing
something right.
9. If you could walk down the ‘red’ carpet with
anyone/thing, who/what would it be?
A purple zebra.
10. How are you going to celebrate post-Whalies?
Hopefully enjoying a “tour burger” if not that
then at least a bottle of Sailor Jerry and a lot of other people at some
undisclosed party location... in New London... on a one-way street...
